About the Artist
Morgan Allen’s work ranges from cheery, vibrant, and colorful, to dark, disturbing, and monochromatic– but rarely there is any in-between. Famous for her expressive brushstrokes and striking imagery, she most frequently illustrates subjects that are animals, nature, or fantastical. Family and pet portraits are a common subject for commissioned work, along with children’s book illustrations. On her personal time Morgan frequently illustrates “Cursed Wolves”: a dramatic representation of mixed-emotions, the evolution of new feelings, and the complex interactions between our intentional thoughts and spontaneous reactions.
Originally from Texas, Morgan Allen has lived in Chicago for 7+ years, working as a freelance artist, illustrator, and custom framer. She has been published in children’s books, magazines, and album covers for bands. Her preferred mediums include: acrylics, watercolors, markers, ink, graphite, charcoal, and mixed-media.
